H O P E

When you hear that word what is the first thing that comes to mind? Say it out loud so you can hear it…go ahead. 🙂 For me, when I hear, or see, the word hope I am reminded of a time when I didn’t have any. BUT not for the reason you likely think. I am reminded of a season of hopelessness because of the One who brings hope. The one who IS hope. The one who brought me out of the deep trenches of hopelessness. The one who is our eternal hope.

This picture hangs in our kitchen. I see it every day – multiple times. As a matter of fact, there are several things throughout our home that say “hope”. Several years ago that was my “word” for the year. Boy, did that end up being a journey I never imagined I would need to walk…the journey to find and know true hope! I have loved and walked with Jesus for as long as I can remember, but I was missing true hope.

Right now, probably more than ever in recent years, we need hope. So many of our friends, family and neighbors are without hope. They are scared and full of worry.

Hebrews 6:19 states “We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold,” (TPT) The verses preceding are referencing God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 17. God promised to make Abraham the father of many nations. God’s promise was fulfilled (of course, because God always keeps His promises and He cannot let us down). And it speaks of how we can hide ourselves in His faithfulness – having unshakeable hope. Unshakeable hope! I want that!! Don’t you??

One more (because it is so, so good)…Romans 15:13 “Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust Him. And may the Power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with His super-abundance until you radiate with Hope!” (MSG) Y’all, I want to radiate His hope. I want uncontainable joy and perfect peace trusting in Him!

Friend, if you feel hopeless today, with all that is swirling around, be encouraged. Seek Him and you will find Him. He IS hope. He is perfect peace. He promises joy and peace as we put our trust in Him.

Heavenly daddy, I pray over my friend reading this today. I pray you breathe hope in to their very being. I pray you fill them with your uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you promise in your word. You are the living word and we seek you. You tell us when we seek you, we will find you. We want more of you because we know that without you we are nothing. We can’t weather this storm – or this world – without you. We love you, daddy. We thank you for your protection and your provision. You are good!
