I am a wife and mom who has experienced “life” in more ways than I ever thought possible. My husband, Joe, is a Battalion Chief for a municipal fire department in a neighboring city. We have four amazing kids – Sarah (26, my “bonus”), Braylen (hanging out with Jesus but he would soon be 13), Aaron (11), and Titus (9). We are huge dog lovers and currently have two lap dogs. Just kidding…one is a Great Pyr and the other is a Boxer/Pit mix. They are both big babies.
Why Warriors and Ashes? I’m so glad you asked! A warrior is someone known to be involved in warfare, struggle or conflict. Ashes are the residue that remains after something burns or is destroyed. I have been a warrior all my life. My story has a trail of ashes. The good news? A promise from my heavenly daddy. Even though parts of my past have burned and my idea of how life should have been has often turned to ash, there is always – always – new, vibrant life under the ash. Isaiah 61:3 MSG “…bouquets of roses instead of ashes…”.
Y’all, I do not have it all figured out, but I do know that I am choosing to live in the “bouquets of roses”. Hang out with me and I promise real life with laughter, and some tears. I am not one to sugar coat – life’s too short – so hang on!
